Reach: Stretching forth

Prompt: Reach

Go

Stretching, growing, changing – these are uncomfortable things to do at times. We know there are good, they bring growth; yet, they can hurt too and still they can bring new freedom and joy. With season changes come the opportunity or maybe the need to reach for something different. Start a project, finish a job, push yourself on in the task before you – these things are part of reaching in and do what needs to be done. Moments of reflection are times of reaching in to see what is really important to you. Helping those around you are opportunities to reach out and expand your world by touching the life someone around you.

Growing is exciting, yet it is scary. It is grand, and it is mundane. We can see it happening in our lives, and still it sneaks up on us and before we realized we were reaching beyond selves we find ourselves in a different place.

May today you reach up to gain strength in God, in to know what it is you are to do, and out to enrich the lives of those around you. Whether it be some grand plan you are striving to fulfill; or the simple, and seeming mundane, tasks of everyday life or survival – may you reach, grow, stretch and forever be better because of what you do today!

Blessings.

"For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen."                 Ephesians 4:13-21

Five-Minute-Friday-4As I seek to develop, practice and hone my writing and blogging skills, I periodically participate in the Five Minute Friday writing prompts and associated link up hosted by Kate Motaung at her site. I hope in my unedited writing here, you will be encouraged and challenged to look to God, to love your family, and enjoy this journey of life even as I seek to develop my voice and create the habit of writing.

Hundreds of writers, one word prompt, and just five minutes – watch amazing things happen. Hop on over to Kate Motaung to see what it is all about. Regularly, I will join others that follow the prompt posted and link up with everyone else who is there to share what they have written.
