five minute friday

Who’s your crowd?

As I seek to develop, practice and hone my writing and blogging skills, I have committed to participating in the Five Minute Friday writing prompts and associated link up hosted by Lisa-Jo Baker at her site. I hope to be able to make these posts every Friday, but already life has proven to me that I need to be flexible, so though the posts may not always go up on Fridays, they will go up! I hope in my unedited writing here, you will be encouraged and challenged to look to God, to love your family, and enjoy this journey of simply life!

Prompt: Crowd

Your crowd: group, click, gang, community.

All the words are different, but they carry the same idea. A group of people that are yours. Whether your family, a group of friends, or just people with whom you claim association your crowd are those to whom you may turn when needing advice or comfort. encouragement or a kick in the pants. When your crowd gets real and they truly become yours they may see you at your worst – love you just the same; they see you at your best – cheering you on and helping you keep a right perspective of yourself.

Crowds in this sense of community may not just happen. You have to reach out and work at building friendships. Showing love and sacrifice and maybe being rejected. Yet there are times when you one day realize these people you are doing life with are your community. They are there for you and you are there for them.  They are your crowd, for all the betters and worses of life.

Reach out – take the risk – find your crowd. For living life alone, though you may get everything the way you want, is not as rewarding and enjoyable as when you have your crowd to support your and who you can support.

Hundreds of writers, one word prompt, and just five minutes – watch amazing things happen. Hop on over to Lisa-Jo Baker to see what it is all about. Each Friday I’ll will join others that follow the prompt posted by Lisa, and then I’ll link up at her website with everyone else who is there to share what they have written.

  1. It is so true that by ourselves we may get everything the way we want it, but together perhaps we find we get the things that we need….we just didn’t know it 🙂 Love your words.
